Bee bread – the noblest and most precious treasure from the hive

Bee bread, commonly referred to as "bee bread", is undoubtedly the most precious and valuable of all bee products. Often incorrectly called "pierga" or "piegrza" by beginner apitherapy enthusiasts. It is made from flower pollen, which, after being brought into the hive, is packed into wax cells and then enriched by bees with their own enzymes, honey, and royal jelly. At a constant hive temperature (approx. 30°C) and under a tight wax seal, the whole mixture undergoes a multi-week process of natural lactic fermentation. It is this process that preserves, refines, and turns ordinary pollen into a real, natural superfood.

Bee bread vs bee pollen – what is the difference?

Many customers wonder which product to choose. Bee bread is a derivative of pollen, however, it features a much richer composition and incomparably better bioavailability for humans. The lactic acid produced during fermentation in the hive naturally dissolves and opens the hard shell of pollen grains, making the nutritional values hidden within them easily accessible. Additionally, this process enriches the bee bread with royal jelly, honey, new vitamins (including group K and folates) and guarantees a higher concentration of absorbable minerals.

Health-promoting properties – what does bee bread help with?

Thanks to the enormous wealth of nutrients (including all essential amino acids, Omega-3 and Omega-6 acids, as many as 42 enzymes, flavonoids, and a full package of vitamins and minerals), natural bee bread exhibits an incredibly powerful, health-promoting effect on our body:

• Rebuilding and strengthening immunity: It instantly supports the immune system. It is perfect for regenerating the body after serious illnesses, treatments, or surgeries.
• Support for the nervous system: It naturally stimulates the nervous system, relieves tension, and improves concentration. It is recommended for depressive states and chronic fatigue syndrome.
• Regulation of the digestive system: It has a positive effect on bowel function, helps fight ulcers and reflux, and also regulates problems with constipation and diarrhoea.
• Heart and disease prevention: It supports the cardiovascular system (helps with hypertension and high cholesterol). Thanks to its strong antioxidant properties, it reduces the risk of atherosclerosis, diabetes, or cancer.

How to use bee bread? Discover the best methods

Although apiary bee bread is a perfectly absorbable product, the father of Polish apitherapy (Prof. R. Czarnecki) indicated that administering it in the form of an aqueous solution increases this bioavailability as much as 8-10 fold! Simply pour lukewarm water (max. 40°C) over 1-2 teaspoons (10-20g) in the evening, optionally add a teaspoon of honey, and leave for 6-10 hours. The solution should be drunk in the morning on an empty stomach. Such a treatment should be used for up to 12 weeks, with a minimum 3-week break.

Another great way is to combine the granules with yoghurt or kefir – a health-promoting synergy then occurs, and the fats facilitate the absorption of vitamins A, E, and K. Remember that after excluding allergies, bee bread can be given to children from 3 years of age (in a reduced dose of approx. 5-10 g) and successfully used during pregnancy as valuable, natural support for the body.

Proper extraction from frames and safe glass jars

To obtain just 1 kg of this treasure, our beekeepers clean from 5 up to as many as 30 frames! Our Polish bee bread is carefully deep-frozen (to safely crumble the wax) and properly dried at a temperature up to 35°C, after which it goes to the winnower. Drying is crucial because it protects the product from mould without the need to keep it in the fridge. We pack it exclusively in glass jars, which guarantees full protection against moisture and preserves its amazing biological activity for a long time.
