Multiflower honey – the most versatile (and underrated) traditional Polish honey
Multiflower honey is one of the best and yet most underrated Polish honeys. While many customers look for varietal honeys with dominant nectar, it is multiflower honey that achieves the richest flavour and aroma profile. As the name suggests, it is made from the nectar of many flowers, shrubs and trees, both wild and cultivated. Each batch is a completely different, unique composition, which means its taste never gets boring. Depending on the harvest date (from May to September) and the location of the apiaries, it is characterised by different colours – from light cream to tea-coloured, which turns into a light grey or light brown shade after crystallisation.
Health-promoting properties of multiflower honey
The variety of pollen and nectars that make up this unique product translates into its versatile health properties and wealth of nutrients:
- Nourishment and heart support: Thanks to the content of easily absorbed simple sugars, multiflower honey is an ideal source of energy that actively supports the heart muscle and the entire circulatory system.
- Digestive system support: It is widely helpful for liver and gallbladder diseases, effectively contributing to the improvement of the digestive system's functioning.
- Natural weapon against colds and flu: Due to its mild and sweet taste, it is an excellent agent in the prevention and support of the treatment of flu, colds and lower respiratory tract diseases in children and adults.
Multiflower honey for allergies – how does it work?
Many people wonder whether multiflower honey is good for allergies. Yes, regular consumption of multiflower honey from local apiaries is particularly recommended for people suffering from seasonal pollen allergies. This honey naturally contains small amounts of pollen from surrounding plants, which, with systematic intake of small doses, acts as natural desensitisation, helping the body gradually build tolerance and become immune to bothersome allergens.
For whom and for what? Application in the daily diet
Due to its extremely pleasant, delicate floral bouquet and mildness, real multiflower honey is the perfect choice for children and the whole family. It is a versatile, healthy sugar substitute in the daily diet. It is perfect for sweetening coffee, tea or herbal infusions (remember that the beverage temperature should not exceed 40°C for the honey to retain its properties).
It is a wonderful complement to healthy breakfasts – oatmeal, muesli, granola, natural yoghurts and an addition to pancakes and home-baked goods. Interestingly, thanks to its strong moisturising effect, this honey also works great as a natural element of home beauty treatments, e.g. in face and hair masks.
